My take on the whole iPad debate.

Everyone was dissing the iPhone when it first came out, and look where it is now, the second biggest mobile platform in the US, only to be bettered by RiM (Research In Motion, the people behind BlackBerry), it’s share has even overtaken windows mobile! This is the same kinda thing, just like the iPhone, I very much believe that the iPad will get better over time. Everyone moaned when there were x,y,z features were missing from the iPhone, but the beauty of the platform is that software updates can literally give the device new capabilities, and within a year of the iPhones release, the App Store was open and third party applications were finally allowed on the phone.

I think that in it’s current state, yes the iPad lacks some features, BUT, let’s not forget it’s capable of running an entire office suite, with support for an external display to do presentations with, and numerous mac developers have already committed to porting their popular desktop applications to the iPad, everything about the softwares design looks awesome, I would prefer it to a netbook any day.
